On March 13, 2019, BeijingMunicipal Housing and Urban-Rural Construction Committee published the resultsof Beijing Construction Engineering Method Review in 2018. After having beenstrictly reviewed by several judges and experts, “The Construction Engineering Methodof Manual Digging and Water Blocking for one-way Seepage Flow in Shale Formation”,declaredby Sichuan Jinfa Constructionand Installation Engineering Co., Ltd., stood out among many constructionengineering methods andsuccessfully passed the Beijing ConstructionEngineering Method Review in 2018. It is an additional provincial and ministeriallevel Construction Engineering Method awarded to the Company.

Theabovementioned Construction EngineeringMethod, comes from the project of JinshuoResort Hotel in Mianyang City, Sichuan Province. Because the project isadjacent to Xianhai Lake, the construction environment is complex and theconstruction is difficult. The one-way linear lake water seepage flow, which israre in shale formation, occurs duringthe construction of manual digging pile foundation, resulting in the manualdigging pile construction can not be performed for some single buildings. Takinginto account the surrounding environment, construction difficulties and the statusof construction equipment, the project immediately established a special groupto analyze and study the seepage flow problems. After kinds of investigation,measurement, reasoning, analysis and demonstration, the special group excludedmany construction schemes such as water blocking，curtain for cutting off water, etc.,and finally determined the construction technology of this method.

After the successfulimplementation of the technology, the difficult problems of one-way linear lakewater seepage flow in shale formation were finally overcome. Its practicalapplication has achieved remarkable results, which is not only cost saving, butalso ensures the quality and safety of construction. Meanwhile, the engineering method acquired the unanimous praise from the client,supervision company and Mianyang Quality Supervision Station and so on, and was awarded the certificate of patent for utilitymodel in November 27, 2018.
